La regata storica is one of the most picturesque events of the city. The regatta of typical boats is exciting for the inhabitants of Venice but also for the tourists.

It is a historical parade of typical venetian boats from the 15 ^th century which have on their fronts the famous Bucintoro which is symbolising the antique republic of Venice – Serenissima. The event is dedicated to the welcome of Caterina Corsaro in 1489.

The parade is followed by a competition between venetian oarsmen that have been preparing for the event the whole year.
